Carlie’s Dolman Top is a trendy top with multiple hem options and a flattering wide cut boat neck. The girls love it not only because it’s comfy but because it’s cute and fashionable. The best part is it fits, infants, toddlers, girls, tweens & teens!
This is a simple quick sew using knit fabrics. Many of my testers were new to knits and beginners with sewing garments in general, but they could sew it up in under an hour. Even if the first one wasn’t perfect they were totally wearable and their kids begged for more! With-in 2 tries you would have no idea they had just started sewing with knits!
I have also included great custom fit instructions so not only do you get 12 sizes in one pattern, but you also get directions to help make a custom fit top for girls needing slim and plus sizes.

I highly recommend this pattern. The shirt sews up very quickly and is amazingly comfortable. More information and pics can be found on my blog here: http://www.piepiedesigns.com/2014/04/eymm-mommy-me-blog-tour.html

I have made my daughter 3 of these so far. I adjusted the pattern slightly: I added bands to the arms and neckline because it was easier for me. I also graded the back up bit so it was less of a slope. I find the pattern fits a little in the small size. My 7 year old wears a size 8-10 and I had to make her a 10 with the waist grated to a 12. Overall love this pattern and so does she!!

I enjoyed making this pattern, simple, easy to follow with nice options! I wasn’t 100% sold on the way it needs to be taped together in the first place but once that was sorted I sailed through & made this cute gift! There will be plenty more ahead 🙂

I made a couple of these for my daughter and her best friend (they had to match). It was a fast sew, only taking 3/4 for both shirts. It probably would have been faster, if my toddler son didn’t want to “help”. I used a sweater knit for the front and lace for the back. This pattern is very easy to follow and easy to modify. The possibilities are endless With this top. I added bands to everything and it came out just as cute as the crop top (my daughter’s favorite). She wears a size 10 and it fits well.

I made this pattern in a 4T with the hi-low hem option. I LOVE it! My daughter loves it too, so there will be many more of these made for years to come. I love that this pattern goes up to 20; I will definitely be making them every year for my two girls and possibly nieces as well.

This came together quickly and fit beautifully. Both my daughters love it and I am thinking about buying rhe women’s pattern for myself.

Made this in an 8 and it turned out perfect even though my daughter usually needs patterns slimmed down. She loves the comfort and I love the look!

Another amazing pattern from EYMM. Love the way this turned out. I have made 5 so far and haven’t been disappointed yet. The pattern is easy to put together and the instructions are detailed.

I do really like this pattern. It’s straight forward and easy to sew. and very quick. I marked it down however because of the finishing. The neck and arm openings are all recommended to be hemmed. No option for a neckband, or cuffs. Also there is no long sleeve option so I had to draft that on my own.
It wasn’t hard but would have made a more complete pattern with these options added in.

I made this top according to my daughters measurements. She measured at a 2T. It was way too big and way too revealing. It fell off her shoulder and at not even 2 years old that is highly inappropriate. I was not too happy with the pattern and have yet to make any others from the bunch I purchased.

Sarah we (Kymy & Joelle) would love to help you figure out what happened! Some kids (just like adults) have slimmer shoulders then others and benefit from using a smaller neckline. But if it is big everywhere how does your test square measure? Also what were her actual measurements? If they are only slightly over the size we generally recommend going down a size and adusting the length if needed. You can always send a message via our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/EverythingYourMamaMade/.
While we have had occasional fit issues with the neckline on different body shapes we haven’t had reports of (or seen pictures of) any overall fit issues like this in the last 3.5 years and if it is a pattern issue we would like to figure it out.
