Fall has officially arrived in the Northern Hemisphere and I decided it was about time to sew up some new full-length ‘Get Moving’ Leggings. I knew that the jegging fabric hiding in my stash would be perfect to welcome fall!
I bought just under 2 yards (all that was left on the bolt) of this dark blue jegging knit from Walmart last spring and it’s been waiting for the perfect time to become “denim” leggings. I was slightly worried because it barely had enough width-wise stretch for the pattern and had even less vertical stretch, but I LOVE the way they fit! Thank goodness the ‘Get Moving’ Leggings don’t require as much vertical stretch as some other leggings. I wish I had a few more yards, but there hasn’t been any more jegging fabric at my local Walmart since I bought the end of the bolt almost 6 months ago!
It’s been so long since I bought it that I don’t remember the exact fabric content, so I added 2 inch wide elastic inside the waistband just in case there wasn’t enough spandex in the fabric to keep it from stretching out during the day. I figured better safe than sorry when considering that not enough spandex would result in my leggings falling down!!
To top off my “denim” leggings, I pulled out my dusty blue floral Asymmetrical Drape Top that I made last fall (to be exact, it was a year ago next week) for the Momiform Makeover series. I love this top and have worn it almost weekly since making it!
What are you sewing up for the changing season?
