I wanted to share what I wrote about my husband on facebook this morning. I will say my big kids are lucky, though my ex (their dad) and I may butt heads and have different views on parenting he really does try to do what he thinks is best and loves his kids to pieces. My older 3 are lucky because they get to have 2 dads. What stands out to me most isn’t just that they get ‘another’ dad but just how much of a dad he really is to them. So happy Father’s Day to all those dad’s out there whether you are just a dad to your own biological kids, you get to be the 2nd dad that treats them as their own and the ones to step up and be the only dad those kids have.
“Being a dad is more then biology. It’s about loving your kids unconditionally whether they are your blood or not. It’s about the cuddles when they wake up from a bad dream, dressing up as a butterfly just because they asked, making them laugh and teaching them important life lessons. Most importantly loving them all equally as those who are biologically yours. Brian is the best dad I could ask for to help raise this crazy circus of ours. I love you and hope you enjoy sleeping in, a lazy day of video games and some BBQ for dinner!”
