I know I haven’t posted in a while including the voting for the Jan. challenge, and I promise to get that up soon, but 2.5 weeks ago Parker Scott finally made his arrival so we have been a little busy . On top of that when he was a week old my mother in law had a heart attack in the middle of the night & was left with out oxygen to the brain for hours because he blood pressure was so low. Because of this hubby & his family spent almost a week at the hosptial not knowing if she was going to make it. Thankfully she woke up and though she will have a long road of recovery ahead of her she is making huge strides and will be okay. They are optimistic that she will recover 90-100% AND in the processes they are finding out that she may have been misdiagnosed more then once over the last 30 years like hubby & his brother thought and she may end up on a lot less meds and in a lot less pain because of it.
Anyway Parker Scott arrived 2/2/2011 (1 day before his due date) at 6:12am weighting in at 7lbs 3oz and measuring 20″ long. I was able to have an amazing VBAC that was MUCH easier & less traumatic then my first vaginal birth with Zander 5.5 years ago. The most awesome part is once I was at 10 it only took 12 minutes with 4 big contractions a few minutes apart to get him out!!! Beats the 3.5 hours and all the tearing with Zander.
I feel AWESOME recovery wise & we went home the very next morning. By the next day when we went home I honestly didn’t feel like I had just had a baby! All 3 kids just ADORE him as do mommy & daddy. So far he is pretty easy going just like his brother & sisters. He did have a little issue with gaining weight at first but he finally stopped loosing & started gaining so things are going good. He just gets to be mommy’s little peanut for a little longer… you got to love the squishy newborn stage!
One of my AWESOME friends, Kim, who I have mentioned before took some newborn pictures when Parker turned 2 weeks old this week. She has only got a few edited & up on her site, but they are AWESOME! All of the crocheted props I made while I was prego & they are from patterns I got on YouCanMakeThis.com. The blue & white, giraffe & sheep skin backgrounds are all pieces of fabric I had in my sewing room & she took all the pictures on the couch in front of the window in my living room. I can’t wait to see the rest!
First off a few pictures from the hospital that one of my best friends since middle school took for us. I will say these are by no means nice pictures of me, but childbirth is hard work! Honestly I look better then I did after my oldest sons birth so I might as well share them.
Right after daddy cut the cord… I just couldn’t believe he came out so fast & was tiny. (the same size as my first but I had been having giant baby nightmares at the end!)
He was SO alert from the minute his head came out, seriously B said it was weird because before the rest of him came out he had his eyes wide open!
The first time holding his baby boy :). (this is B’s 1st child of his own)
This picture is very silly, but honestly it sums it all up :), we were just so happy that everything went so smoothly why not be a little silly?
This is the blanket I started crocheting the last few days while waiting for him to make his appearance… I finished it in the hospital. The best part is he does exactly what I expected with his fingers & toes in the holes :).
Now for the 2 week shots…. these are just SO amazing… I wish I had photo’s like these of my other kiddos.
Today I got to sew for the first time since Parker arrived & I have a bunch of stuff planned for the blog this week so keep your eye out because not only do I have projects & new tutorials to share along with voting on last months challenge but also so coupon codes & giveaways too!
