SO right before the chaos of finding out we were prego & the end of school/start of summer I got an custom order from a lady near by who’s daughter is almost a tween & in those sizes, but likes to dress her age. They couldn’t find ruffled leggings past a size 8 anywhere, So she ordered 6 pairs & some of the fabric she ordered got back ordered & life got crazy, fabric was short, it was a nightmare… none the less the 5 week custom order took 8 & then thanks to a shipping error it ended up back on my porch on Sat. so it’s now 9 weeks! Luckily she lives in the same state so when I ship it tomorrow she should have it by Wed.
Anyway I wanted to make her something extra to say sorry, so I had remembered these cute skirts I had seen at Abercrombie in the mall, ‘Josey’ skirts… $50 and they were pretty short. I had bought fabric to try making some for the local market… so for $5 and about 15 minutes I made a slightly longer, more tween appropriate knock off!
This is the $50 original…
And this is my $5 knock off…
These are the carpi length ruffle leggings I made for her…

<3 the leggings. Think people would give me weird looks if I made some for me? 😛

I would like to know what kind of lace you used on the leggings. Is it a stretchy one, pre-gathered, or did you gather as you sewed? Thanks.
Kymy
It is just strips of knit fabric that I cut, gathered, attached with a zig zag & then removed the basting/gathering stitches so it would be stretchy.
